Golfective / Compare
Golfective vs Sportsbox AI
One app turns your swing into a 3D model you can study from any angle. The other gives you a short list of numbers and the drill for the biggest fault. Here is how they compare, and which one fits the way you practise.
Prices from the US App Store, checked in October 2026. Both apps change often — check the App Store before you decide.
This comparison is written by the Golfective team. We’ve tried to be fair, including where the other app is the better choice.
Sportsbox AI turns a single phone video into a 3D model of your swing that you can rotate and view from any angle. It is aimed at serious amateurs and coaches who want deep biomechanics. Golfective is built for everyday practice: each swing comes back as a short list of numbers against the Tour benchmark, ranked by priority, with the drill that addresses the biggest deviation. If you want 3D data and like digging into it, Sportsbox is the deeper tool. If you want to hit balls and know what to work on next, Golfective is simpler and cheaper.

Where Sportsbox AI is the better choice
- You want 3D. Seeing your swing from above, from behind or down the target line, rebuilt from one video, is something Golfective does not do.
- You work with a coach who uses Sportsbox. It has a dedicated coach app and a web portal for managing students.
- You enjoy the data itself and want as many body measurements as you can get.
Where Golfective is the better choice
- You want one clear priority. Golfective ranks the deviations and tells you what to fix first, with the drill to fix it — less to read, more to practise.
- You want the numbers that explain contact. Tempo, swing plane, shaft lean and head movement, measured the same way every session so you can see them change.
- Tempo. The ratio is measured on every swing, and the tempo trainer lets you practise it on the range.
- Your video stays with you. The analysis runs on the iPhone, and the video file is never uploaded.
- Price. The free plan does not expire, and a year of Pro costs $44.99 against $109.99 for a year of Sportsbox Player — less than half.
Frequently asked questions
Is 3D analysis more accurate than Golfective's metrics?
They measure different things. 3D gives a fuller picture of how your body rotates. Golfective focuses on the handful of numbers that most often explain bad contact — tempo, plane, shaft lean and head movement — measured the same way every session so you can track them.
Which one should a mid-handicapper choose?
If you will spend time studying your swing, Sportsbox gives you more to study. If you want to turn up at the range, hit, and know what to change, Golfective is built for that.
Which one is cheaper?
Golfective. Its free plan does not expire, and Pro costs $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year. Sportsbox Player costs $15.99 a month or $109.99 a year. These are US App Store prices from October 2026; they change by country and over time.
Does Golfective work on Android or iPad?
No. Golfective is iPhone only.
