Golfective / Compare
Golfective vs V1 Golf
Two swing analysis apps built for different golfers. One is designed around your coach, the other around practising on your own. Here is how they compare, and which one fits the way you practise.
Prices from the US App Store, checked in October 2026. Both apps change often — check the App Store before you decide.
This comparison is written by the Golfective team. We’ve tried to be fair, including where the other app is the better choice.
V1 Golf is built around coaching: you film your swing, send it to an instructor and get a lesson back. Golfective is built for practising alone: you set the club behind the ball, the phone records on its own, and every swing comes back as numbers against the Tour benchmark, with the drill that addresses each deviation. If you work with a coach, V1 is the natural choice. If you practise on your own and want to know what to work on, Golfective is the lighter, cheaper option.

Where V1 Golf is the better choice
- You work with a coach. V1 is designed for sending videos to an instructor and getting a lesson back, with voiceover and drawings on your swing. Golfective does not connect you to a coach.
- You want to put your swing next to a Tour pro’s. V1’s library of model swings is one of the largest there is.
- You use Android or an iPad, or you want ball tracing from video.
Where Golfective is the better choice
- You practise alone. Set the clubhead behind the ball and the phone recognises it, records the swing, then stops and analyses. You do not have to touch the phone, or say anything to it, between shots.
- You want numbers, not adjectives. Tempo as a ratio (Tour target 3:1), shaft lean in degrees, head movement in centimetres, time on plane as a percentage — each one scored against the benchmark for the club you hit.
- You want to know what to practise next. Deviations are ranked by priority, and each one comes with a drill: the kit, the reps, what you should feel and the common mistake.
- Your video stays with you. The analysis runs on the iPhone, and the video file is never uploaded.
- Price. The free plan does not expire, and a year of Pro costs $44.99 against $79.99 for a year of V1 Plus.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use both?
Yes. Some golfers use Golfective on the range between lessons to see what is changing, then send their best swing to their coach through V1.
Which one is better for beginners?
If you have lessons booked, V1 keeps you connected to your coach. If you are practising on your own, Golfective tells you the single thing to work on first, which is easier to act on.
Does Golfective work on Android?
No. Golfective is iPhone only.
Which one is cheaper?
Golfective. Its free plan does not expire, and Pro costs $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year. V1 Golf Plus costs $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year, and coaching is paid on top. These are US App Store prices from October 2026; they change by country and over time.
